The interior design for this newsagency reinterprets a traditionally utilitarian retail typology into a warm, materially rich space that balances function with visual interest.
The interior design for this newsagency reinterprets a traditionally utilitarian retail typology into a warm, materially rich space that balances function with visual interest. The design centres around extensive use of natural timber joinery, applied across all major cabinetry elements including perimeter shelving, service counters, and display units. The timber finish introduces warmth and tactility, creating a comfortable and approachable customer environment.
White laminate is used sparingly on selected vertical surfaces and backing panels to provide contrast and reflectivity, enhancing ambient light levels without diluting the material integrity of the timber palette. The flooring features custom-selected concrete-look mosaic tiles in a mixed pattern of black and white geometric motifs, providing a durable, slip-resistant surface with a strong graphic identity that defines circulation paths and anchors the space visually.
The result is a contemporary, high-functioning retail interior that aligns with modern branding expectations while supporting operational efficiency and product visibility.
